Father's Day Sermon 2025
1. Further Devotional Thoughts
Title: Becoming a Father Like Boaz
Boaz stands as a remarkable example of godly masculinity not because of grand gestures or powerful conquests, but because of consistent, covenantal love—what the Old Testament calls hesed. Boaz shows us that a godly father is not passive or reactive. He is a man of presence, compassion, and conviction. He sees people through God’s eyes, speaks blessing over others, and acts as a safe covering of protection and grace.
This kind of fatherhood isn’t about perfection; it’s about patterning our lives after God's character. Boaz’s story reminds us that many of the most important spiritual moments happen in the ordinary—at work, in conversations, in how we treat the vulnerable. It is in the “just then” moments that we see what we’re made of—and whom we belong to.
Let this be the calling for every father and spiritual leader: be a man whose life, like Boaz, reflects God’s providence, kindness, and grace.
2. Discussion Questions

What do “just then” moments look like in a father’s life today?
Boaz speaks blessing to his workers—what’s the tone of your words at home and work?
Boaz protects Ruth—how can fathers create emotional, spiritual, and physical safety?
What does it mean to “point to God” in the life of your children or family?
