Weekly Devotions: LOVE (Leading Toward PEACE)
Monday through Saturday
Monday – Love That Initiates
Scripture: Luke 1:26–28
God’s love moves first. Before Mary asks, before she understands, before she agrees—God acts. Advent love reminds us that salvation begins with God’s initiative, not our perfection.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for loving me before I ever sought You.
Tuesday – Love That Interrupts
Scripture: Luke 1:29–30
God’s love often disrupts our expectations. Mary’s quiet life is interrupted by a divine calling. Love sometimes rearranges our plans to fulfill God’s greater purpose.
Prayer:
God, help me trust You when Your love interrupts my plans.
Wednesday – Love That Calls for Trust
Scripture: Luke 1:34–35
Mary asks honest questions, not out of doubt but humility. Love invites faith that leans into mystery rather than fleeing from it.
Prayer:
Lord, give me courage to trust You even when I don’t understand.
Thursday – Love That Transcends Limitations
Scripture: Luke 1:36–37
“Nothing will be impossible with God.” Advent love reminds us that God’s power is not constrained by age, circumstance, or human weakness.
Prayer:
God, strengthen my faith in Your power beyond my limitations.
Friday – Love That Responds
Scripture: Luke 1:38
Mary’s response is not passive—it is courageous surrender. Love says yes to God, even when the cost is unknown.
Prayer:
Lord, help me say yes to You with trust and humility.
Saturday – Love That Leads to Peace
Scripture: Isaiah 9:6
The love announced to Mary will soon be born as the Prince of Peace. Advent love prepares our hearts for the peace only Christ can bring.
Prayer:
Jesus, prepare my heart for Your peace as I wait for Your coming.
